I have searched a number of forums and cannot find the info I need.  Has anyone compared the Detector Pro Uni-probe to the Sun Ray in-line target probe?  It seems to me a great advantage of the uni-probe is that it is not connected to your machine which gives one more flexibility, also it looks like one could get the uni into tighter places ie cracks, creavices etc.
So what do you think?  Which one is best? Which one has the greatest depth(or is that a concern)?  If you can only have one pinpointer which one do you buy?
Thanks for any opinions.

The thing I like best about the SunRay probe is the fact that when it is hooked up to your machine, it in fact becomes an extension of your detector so you have the benifit of using a probe with the same discrimination and other capabilities that your detector has. With my Sovereign, I am able to use the Sunray probe like I would an accessory coil by hooking the probe directly into the Sovereign control box (Sovereign only option). It is however a little too big around to be sticking into small cracks and crevices. The probe is at least an inch in diameter.

A disadvantage of the SunRay probe is seen when you use more than one model of detector. In that case, you would have to buy a seperate probe for each machine and that can get expensive real quick.

Hope this helps a little, bottlebum

I agree with Bottlebum the Sunray probe is great. If I had a number of detectors I think there is a Headhunter probe that plugs in you detector headphone jack and lets you use this probe with a flip of a switch on the headphones and can be used for any unit. Ron
