The Wader is very versatile tough detector and no one seems to know that. It is an all around good detector.

I was out in the rain again with the Wader. When I was heading for the beach it started to rain. When I got there it had stopped and got on the beach for about an hour and it started to come down again and I was about the only one on the beach because it kept raining and didn't stop for over an hour. I had a light plastic poncho on. It is different detecting in the rain. Found 20 coins and a hot wheels car for great grand son....Z

Hi Beale

This is the second time writing this. I guess the first time I took to long. Was eating lunch and I don't think it wanted to wait for me to finish lunch and send a post.:181:

It took 2 years for the guys at Outdoor Outfitters to talk me into the Wader. I read all the reports on the DetectorPro and I didn't what the hassle connected with the detector.

Here is what I have learned so far. The Wader is a go anywhere do anything detector. I have almost 90 hours on it. I go detecting 4 or more days a week anywhere from 2 to 7 hours. I keep it in the trunk of the car so when done with work I can stop and detect on the way home. It is a turn on and go easy to learn very light small fit anywhere detector. I use it on the beaches, tot lots and I did some sidewalks detecting with it. The city had a few blocks of sidewalks torn up so got in there and found much, much iron. I don't usually dig deep coins but I have dug some coins at about 8" with it. Most of my coins are some where around 2"-4". It is a good coin machine. I have found a couple of rings gold and silver. It still isn't enough time on it for a real good report but this is what I have learned so far. All and all it is a fine turn on and go detector....Z

That is very good to hear. I like the fact it is a turn on and go machine. I also want something for the beach and misty/rainy days. The more I hear the better I like it, Beale.

Hey Zeekeys

Graw here -- On your post you mention something about the hassle that came with the wader . The reason I ask is I'm thinking about buying one and anything  feed back would be appreciated  Thanks Graw

Hi Graw

The hassle I was talking about was from the reports on the DetectorPro that I had read. It was broke and leaked and it didn't work the way it should. Those guys kept me away from the Wader for 2 years. I started reading Bugar's posts on the Wader and the Land pro and I thought it might be worth trying. It is a good detector.

I do beach detecting most of the time and it is great on the beaches I go to. I use the discrimination at 1 and sensitivity at 10 most of the time and it is so quiet. It is a joy to use and very light so I can detect for hours and go back out again the next day. I can't say that with other detectors that I have had.

It is easy to learn to use. I dig everything so I have dug mountains of trash but that is the way I do it. You have a 250 a TID machine. The Wader isn't and you get to understand targets by sound.

The hang up some people have is changing batteries, which last like 50 hours. You have to put Silicone grease (very very small amount, very small amount) on the "O" ring when you put the cup back together. Some people think that is too much trouble.

I really like the detector and will be using it for some time to come. Hope this helps? If you need more let me know.....Z

Graw I got the Wader for a back up detector. I got a ID Edge just one week before I got the Wader. I used the Edge for one week and took the batteries out of it and haven't used it since. The Edge is my back up and the Wader is use all the time detector. I am retired also and just can't swing those 4 pound detectors for any length of time anymore. Had an xlt, great detector but one 4 hour day kind of did me in and it was iffy if I would go the next day. With the Wader I have gone detecting 5 days in a roll. I have done a few 7 hour days also. It fits my needs. It is a good coin machine also. The rain just runs off the headphones, it is just so amazing to me that I go detecting in the rain on the beach. Enough....Z
